Pastoral Care: Westonbirt prides itself on its’ outstanding pastoral care. The welfare, happiness and well-being of each and every one of our girls in school is of paramount importance. Mrs Price, Head of Boarding and Pastoral care, is extremely well supported by a strong team of housemistresses and other staff who know and care for girls individually. Our dedicated Health and Well-being Centre delivers more than just their medical care and girls have access on-site to specialist medical professionals including a school counsellor.

Chapel: Westonbirt School is a multi-cultural school with a Church of England foundation and the worshipping life of the school and our beautiful Chapel of St Catherine are central to the community of the school. The informal Sunday services include visiting speakers, Holy Communion and a Reflective Voluntary service which is interactive, providing a variety of creative ways to pray and worship God.

The main school assembly is on a Monday with hymns, prayers and a Christian message from our Chaplain or Headmistress. On Tuesday and Thursday evenings there is a short sung service of Vespers in the Great Hall. Hymn practice is on Tue mornings and tutor group assemblies are on Fridays. The services and assemblies are for all pupils, Catholic boarders can attend Mass at the Tetbury Catholic Church.

Our prep school joins us at significant moments such as the beginning of the school year and Remembrance Day, so that the whole school can worship together.

Revd Alice Monaghan is the Chaplain to the prep and senior Schools. She was trained at Ridley Hall Theological College, Cambridge and was ordained in 2006. She is married with 3 young children who attend the prep school.

As well as leading the worshipping life of the school, Revd Alice provides pastoral support for all pupils and staff at Westonbirt and runs Youth Alpha for senior girls who are considering Confirmation.
