What is your job title?
I am a Science Teacher, specialising in chemistry
How long have you been teaching and where have you taught previously?
This is my sixth year teaching, and previously I was working in a school in West London called Durston House. So these are very exciting times for me, a new area and a new school.
What is your favourite thing about teaching?
I love the interaction with the students, but also the chance to be able to share my knowledge about one of my passions, science. Even before I started my chemistry degree I knew that teaching could be one of my routes. Both of my parents are teachers and so is my sister. Therefore you could say that teaching has always been in my blood.
What inspires you most about your subject?
That science always has the answer to all your questions and if it does not have it, then you can investigate it.
What are enjoying most about teaching at Westonbirt?
Everybody is lovely, friendly and happy here. I felt part of the community since day one, everybody seems to enjoy working in this place, and that means a lot. I guess that working in such a beautiful setting also helps.
If you were stranded on a desert island, what book would you want to have with you?
I would take The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón, which is my favourite book.
