

Westonbirt students are celebrating exceptional GCSE results in this extraordinary year. With 49% of GCSEs graded 7 – 9 and 76% graded 6 – 9, students have achieved their potential, despite the pandemic, and look forward to progressing to Westonbirt’s newly co-ed sixth form in September.
Headmistress, Natasha Dangerfield, is extremely proud of the rigorous approach applied by teachers in predicting grades and of the resilience of Westonbirt students during such unprecedented times;
“Small classes allow teachers at Westonbirt to work closely with individuals and ensure they are given every opportunity to reach their full potential. Importantly, we have been able to confidently track and evidence accurate final outcomes for each student.
I am immensely proud of the robust online teaching we delivered last term, including a full programme for Year 11 students who remained engaged and supported, despite the disruption to their GCSE year.”
The outstanding GCSE results follow success at A level last week, when a third of students from the non-selective school achieve A – A* grades. Year 13 student, Natasha, who leaves Westonbirt to pursue a career in politics and international diplomacy, said;
