On Friday 19 January, students from Years 10 to 13 were challenged to “be inspired, be informed and be ambitious” at our annual Inspiring Women and Routes Ahead Seminar. Head of Information and Guidance, Mrs Dunn, welcomed back a host of flourishing Westonbirt alumni to share their route from school to successful careers. Alumni speakers represented a diverse range of pathways including medicine; the legal profession; studying art at Central Saint Martins; PA work; volunteering and studying languages abroad.
Student recruitment experts from London’s Royal Holloway University, University of Southampton, Falmouth University, Oxford Media & Business School and The Royal Agricultural University were available to advise students. Internships, volunteering and international opportunities were explored, while apprenticeship organisations presented exciting opportunities across the corporate and fashion industries. Mrs Dunn said of the day;
“At Westonbirt, we believe in presenting all the options to pupils so they can make informed decisions and be inspired to work towards the best path for their route to success.”
Returning alumni, Lucy and Yemi, expressed their thoughts;
"It is a treat coming back to Westonbirt – being greeted by such familiar faces and feeling so welcome! It’s awesome to hear about everyone's dreams and goals – good luck to all!" Lucy FENN
"I would like to thank Mrs Dunn for inviting me back to Westonbirt! It was my pleasure to give back and share all the experience and wisdom I have gained since leaving." Yemi GREENE.
