On Thursday 23rd November, Year 4 went on a school trip to explore the Roman Bathhouse. Walking through the bustling streets of Bath whilst the Christmas Markets were in full swing, Christmas was in the air; with carol singers, stalls of chestnuts, sparkling Christmas decorations and a giant Christmas tree, the children could hardly contain their excitement!
Arriving at the Roman Baths, Year 4 enjoyed the opportunity to use head set commentaries whilst exploring the museum. On the tour, children saw the different baths and bathing areas, walked over the sacred spring and learnt facts about each of the artefacts and sculptures along the way. Year 4 even spoke to some Romans who taught us how to play Nine Men's Morris! Later on, the children had an interactive session where they handled Roman artefacts and explored replica Roman objects to understand their uses. It was a wonderful day and the children were a total credit – Well done Year 4!
