It has been another busy but successful couple of weeks of sport for Westonbirt Prep School. The U8, U9, U10 and U11 boys and girls played in competitive matches against Kingswood, Royal High and Prior Park Prep. Massive improvement can be seen across the year groups in both Rugby and Hockey.
On Friday the U11 girls competed in the Hockey IAPS Regional Qualifier at Millfield School. In the group stage, Westonbirt won one match, drew two, and narrowly lost one. This resulted in the girls going through to the plate, and coming up against the hosts; Millfield School. The girls fought hard and ended up taking the match to penalty shuffles. Westonbirt Prep School have never done so well in IAPS Hockey before and this was an amazing achievement. Special mentions go to Ruby Butterfield, who played brilliantly in both goal and outfield, Isabella Stenson, Sophie Hayes, and Jasmine Butterfield, who all took the penalties against Millfield. The girls showed superb determination, sportsmanship, and strength (both emotionally and physically!) throughout the day. We are very proud of their achievements.
This marks the end of an encouraging first half term for Westonbirt Prep School. The girls and boys, from all age groups, have been continually improving and we look ahead to more successful matches after half term!
