Westonbirt has a broad demographic of students from all over the world. With fantastic boarding facilities and excellent pastoral care, international students feel at home at Westonbirt as soon as possible.
There are 2 ways to apply for international entrance:
The UK Independent Schools’ Entry test (UKiset) is an online entrance test for international students that wish to apply to a British independent school. Westonbirt is a UKiset associate school and the test can be taken at approved test centres in over 130 countries worldwide.
2. Westonbirt School’s own Entry Tests
Where UKiset is not available, entry will be through the school’s own age appropriate tests, taken under appropriate supervision, or at Westonbirt School.
Overseas candidates undertake a UKiset adaptive online test taken in English. This tests a candidate’s underlying academic abilities through four principal reasoning areas – Non Verbal Reasoning, Spatial Ability, Verbal Reasoning, and Quantitative Ability. Candidates will also be asked to submit a creative writing piece. There is an additional English Placement Test for candidates whose first language is not English. In total, the test takes approximately two and a half hours.
To be considered for a place at Westonbirt School, please ‘register for UKiset’ on the UKiset Website. Please list Westonbirt School on the form and provide as much information as possible – this will be sent to us as part of the UKiset Profile Package and used in conjunction with the UKiset results to assess a candidate’s application to Westonbirt.
Once a candidate has registered and completed the Student Profile Form a member of the UKiset Team will contact them with details of their closest test centre and the next available test date. After the test has been taken and we have received their UKiset Profile Package we will make a decision as to whether or not we wish to take their application further. If we are happy to pursue the application we will at that point require our registration fee to be paid and seek the relevant school references, reports and any additional information relevant to their application.
Please note: a registration fee will only be charged once we have reviewed the UKiset results and are happy to proceed with the application.
For further information, or to register for UKiset, please visit www.ukiset.com. If your child has already taken UKiset and you would like their results to be sent to Westonbirt School please contact UKiset. Alternatively, please view the UKiset FAQs for more information.
