Leading the celebrations at Westonbirt School today are outgoing Head Girl Kate Willey from Scotland and Deputy Head Girl, Ella Morrison from Chippenham who respectively achieved A*A*A and AAA grades in their A-level results this morning.
It is a huge privilege to welcome you to Westonbirt Schools. You will find an inspired community from our rising 3 year olds in Nursery, to the students who are preparing to leave in Year 13 and a group of dedicated and experienced staff.
Westonbirt Prep offers co-ed learning from 3 to 11 years, with a vibrant curriculum offering enviable outdoor space, an abundance of sport, a dedicated Forest School and colourful and stimulating classrooms. Academic achievement is high with pupils moving on after Year 6 to Westonbirt School and other top independent and grammar schools in the local area.
Westonbirt Senior School has educated girls only for the past 90 years from Year 7 through to Year 13 and offers a wealth of subjects, activities and opportunities for teaching and learning to impact on every level.
In a ground-breaking move, Westonbirt recently announced that day boys will be welcomed into Year 7 from September 2019. This is unusual as it is more common for boys schools to become co-ed with the introduction of girls.
Opening up the senior school to boys is a natural evolution for our successful co-educational prep school and there is already a strong demand for senior places among parents of Westonbirt Prep boys, and from the wider local community, including fellow Wishford schools Heywood Prep, Hatherop Castle and Cricklade Manor Prep. While the 2019 Year 7 intake will progress naturally up the school, with sufficient demand transition to co-ed may be accelerated, with Year 9 entry in 2020 and Year 12 in 2021.
For all our students, it is the passion and commitment from staff that fuel teaching and ensure that the learning environment is rich and filled with an expectation that each student will fulfil their potential and beyond.
